Night service of the libraries: its advantages
University libraries are the main information storehouses for the students of the universities. They should offer appropriate and useful information, so scholastic work could go on successfully and with progress. However, not only offered amount of information and quality are influential factors, which provide library’s qualitative work. Not only set of information is important, but also how the information is being offered.
One of information’s offering factors is working hours of the library. Many students work at the day time, when lectures are not happening. Wherewith, they have difficulties to adjust to working hours of the libraries. Numerous libraries around the world offer night service. We are researching, how library night service is being offered in various foreign libraries and if such an opportunity could have patrons of the library of the University of Latvia. One of the most important factors is providing safety in the nights of libraries, as well as what books are offered for readers.
