Kim A. Tallerås

Kim A. TallerĂ¥s is 28 years old, he is a librarian as well as a student at the Master programme at the Faculty of Journalism, Library and Information Science at Oslo University. His main interests are: information politics and the development of the (public) libraries, technology and ideology (FLOSS, CC, file sharing networks etc.). Currently he is living in Oslo.

Kim A. TallerĂ¥s 28 year old librarian and a student at the Master programme of the Faculty of Journalism, Library and Information Science, Oslo University College, Norway. Kim is living in Oslo and besides being a student he is at the moment working with a project called The Library laboratory, a web page where librarians are encouraged to share their 'social technology' skills with others. He's also involved in the small time publishing house called News from NowHere. His main interests are: information politics and the development of the (public) libraries, technology and ideology (FLOSS, CC, file sharing networks etc.), soccer and rare politcal aspects of the libertarian/anarchistic left. As a masterstudent he has studied information politics in combination with more technical oriented subjects as digital documents and XML, java programming and database structures.

Kim has been working for three years as a school librarian, and one year as a prison librarian. He has also been working and involved in several projects at the Oslo University College such as designing and programming websites, revising a general introductory textbook and a structural examination of the open source integrated library system KOHA. In the spring of 2006 Kim was part of a student project in the slum areas of Nairobi, Kenya. The project trained some of the local youngster in librarianship and helped in cooperation with a local NGO to establish a library with internet connection and an operational ILS (KOHA).
