Konstanze Richter

Konstanze Richter was born in Leipzig (east Germany), but soon moved with her family to smaller cities to spend her childhood and youth there. With the age of 16 she flew across the ocean to live with a Texan family for one year. During this time, Konstanze Richter wrote a research paper about the death penalty and learnt about the importance of good information. In 2003 she graduated from high school in Lichtenstein.

She likes to travel and get to know new places and people. So one year later she moved to Hamburg (north Germany) - the “media city” of Germany - to study Library and Information Science at the University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). In the advanced study period she chose the majors information management and information technology. Connecting theory and practice, which is the university’s trademark, helped her to find internships and jobs in the library, publishing and media branch. Konstanze Richter worked as an intern or student assistant in a public and a special library, in Europe’s biggest publishing house for magazines (Gruner+Jahr), at the Northern German Broadcasting Agency NDR and at the Goethe-Institut in Toronto, Canada. At the Information Resource Center of the American Consulate General in Hamburg she did practice-oriented research for German teachers about different topics concerning the USA.

After seven semesters of studying it was time to move again. Konstanze Richter is currently writing her dissertation in Munich (south Germany) about “Google vs. Host” with Germany’s leading company in supplying reference information in economics and business (GBI-Genios).
